Sweet mini-session with two beautiful sisters. As always, my favorite part is to get some candid shots of a mom holding her babes or changing them into different outfits… I know for some people it’s a break before another round of shooting those “perfect” posed moments but I do believe that when the years go by and our children can get dressed and do almost everything on their own it’s THOSE images that reflect the real life, their dependence on us, MOMS would be cherished and dear to our hearts. This realization came to me at a high cost. I have one photo of me when I was one and the next one was taken at around 3 years old. I know if I could I would give a lot just to see how I looked in between those years. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I always tell my friends to keep taking photos of their kids and I firmly believe EVERYONE deserves good family portraits. I offer a few free family sessions each year. If you know someone who is in need and would like one, feel free to tell them to contact me through this blog or my IG account (vikaaaltonenphotography). Our kids grow way too fast so let’s capture some of those moments.
Sisters. Finland.
Mila. Winter woods.
The woods looked so dreamy and peaceful this morning. Out of the three girls at our house I found one that was up for an adventure and we were not disappointed. Mila found a great spotted woodpecker, a bunch of smaller birds and, of course, all the footprints you can imagine.
Mila. Finland.
The fall is in the full swing here in Finland. We love the view out of our window in the living room. So Mila and I decided to spend a few minutes playing in the rain, collecting the leaves and taking some photos.
Beautiful Gabriele. Vilnius
I was so happy to pick up my camera last night to photograph beautiful Gabriele who happens to be my neighbor. It was a gorgeous cool summer evening and it was so easy to photograph this young lady. Gabriele, you are a PRO!
Christian and Ashley
It was such a blessing to attend two weddings when we visited the States last April. The fact that they were family members’ weddings made it even more special. Yes, we were super excited and overwhelmed after the first ceremony on Saturday but then we woke up and did it all over again on Sunday! Thank you Jill for being only 11, who knows what would happen if you were older and dating. So, here’s a quick preview of Chris and Ashley’s special day! I love how each wedding had a different look, feel to it. I think that happens when a photographer tries to tell a story, to document what’s happening instead of showing up with a list of four hundred thirty five poses (and believe me I LOVE posing people, I guess I wouldn’t want to become a director). Congrats to our newlyweds, we love and miss you guys! The slideshow is coming up in the next post shortly.
Spencer and Ariel’s Wedding
Always a privilege to photograph a wedding. What makes it even more special is photographing a wedding of a family member. It was a bit hard to do so through fighting tears in my eyes . It was a truly special day! Spence, I am so proud of you! It’s been awesome to see you grow and mature and now we will continue supporting you on this new journey in your life. Hope you enjoy the photographs.
